Our Program
Mayflower Early Childhood Center is committed to providing excellent care for children ages three to six years. Our four Montessori Children’s House classrooms are recognized by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).
Our AMI-trained Montessori teachers engage the children in a specially prepared environment using a stimulating Montessori curriculum. Areas featured:
Our teachers take great care in preparing the environment so that materials are arranged sequentially, children have comfortable work space, and there is freedom of physical movement.
Daily Schedule
7:30 AM-8:30 AM — Children arrive for Before-school care
8:30 AM to 8:45 AM — Children arrive and begin their day in their classrooms.
Arrival to 11:45 AM — Children have a three-hour uninterrupted Montessori program (also called a "work cycle") that also includes outdoor time. Half-day children depart at 11:45 AM.
11:45 AM to 1:00 PM — Lunch, cleanup, outdoor play
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM — Younger children nap; older children return to classroom
3:30 PM — End of school day
3:30 PM to 5:30 PM — After-school care (4:00 PM in the summer)
